Job Description:

Position: Advisor

Overview: Advisors on the board are members of the association's board who act in an advisory capacity and support the executive board. Their tasks can be varied and may change according to the current needs of the association.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Consultation and Support:

  • Participate in board meetings and provide feedback, suggestions, and advice on current issues of the association.
  • Support the executive board in developing and implementing the association's goals and strategies.

Project Work:

  • Lead or participate in special projects or working groups to achieve the association's goals or solve specific problems.
  • Take on specific responsibilities or tasks based on individual skills and interests.

Representation of the Association:

  • Attend events or meetings to represent the association and build networks.
  • Maintain relationships with other organizations, community groups, or stakeholders.

Member Communication:

  • Communicate with association members to gather their concerns, ideas, or suggestions and forward them to the board.
  • Promote active member engagement and maintain a positive association culture.

Public Relations and Marketing:

  • Support the development of marketing and communication strategies to promote the association and its activities.
  • Contribute to the creation of content for the association's website, newsletter, social media channels, or other communication tools.

Internal Administrative Tasks:

  • Assist the board with administrative tasks, such as organizing events, managing member data, or maintaining association documents.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience in volunteer work in associations or non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of the structure and functioning of boards and associations.

Personal Skills:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate within a committee.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks.

Education:

  • Completed school education or equivalent qualifications.

Scope of Work: The position requires a flexible time commitment, including participation in board meetings and other internal association activities as needed.

Compensation: The position of advisor on the board is usually voluntary. Any travel expenses and disbursements may be reimbursed upon agreement.
